Characteristics
  • Base of the stem is erect.
  • Seed-coat colour is black.
  • Protein content in seed is 25-26%.
  • Maturity period is 80-85 days.
  • It is tolerant to yellow leaf and leaf rot disease.

Land and Soil It can be grown in any types of soil having well drained condition.
Land Preparation Three to four times ploughing followed by laddering is essential. Irrigation can be applied if there is no moisture in the field during sowing time.
Sowing time

The appropriate time of seed sowing is 15 August to 15 September. Late sowing decreases the yield.
Fertilizer dose and method of application During final land preparation, Urea 15 kg, TSP 40 kg and MoP 20 kg/ha are needed to be applied.
Weeding and mulching

Weeding should be done after 15 to 20 days of seed germination by weeding tools or hands.

Pest management

 Usually there is no disease and insect-pest of this variety. Sobicron 425 EC or Malathion 57 EC should be applied when field is attacked by insect pests.
Seed yield/ha Average seed yield is 1000 kg/ha.
